Venus conjoins Saturn
Writer’s block with a Venus–Saturn conjunction is almost poetic, honestly.
Saturn is literally the planet that says, “slow down, be serious, mean what you say.” So, the block itself is part of the symbolism.
So often I stop myself from writing before I have even started. Feelings of failure sink in before the words hit the digital page. Fear of judgement, fear of consequence, fear of action all keep me small and quiet. But mostly, the fear of vulnerability, leaving my (precious, to me) words and ideals to be changed and transformed by what someone else thinks of them.
Why does one feel this need to guard so heavily? And why is now the time to speak up?
Is my exalted Saturn showing?
Today, I bare these thoughts to you with whom I share this dance on the giant spinning space rock. And really, the timing is oh, so sweet.
Venus meets Saturn today. If you follow any astrologers, by now you know that Saturn has made it to Aries. All the hots have already been taked, you don’t need that from me. And frankly, Saturn doesn’t like a tryst… Saturn likes that long term commitment. Plays the “long game”, as people say. So, to really understand what this transit means for you; you must understand Saturn in Aries, Venus in Aries and what it means when Saturn and Venus meet. In Aries.
It’s all cyclical…
Saturn spends roughly 2.5 years in a sign. Aries is the sign of fall, or least amount of comfort. Saturn deprives. Whether that is a boundary (deprived of space), darkness (deprived of light), a deadline (deprived of time), a death (deprived of life), imprisonment (deprived of freedom), etc.
Venus moves much faster and spends mere weeks in a sign. Venus in Aries is exiled, lacking resources far from home. Venus unites. Whether that is a marriage (unites two people), starts a business (unites shop and patrons), art like music, painting, etc (unites artist, muse and medium).
To add to this, Saturn is exalted by Venus when in Libra. These connections allow Saturn and Venus to develop a special fondness for one another while traveling together for a moment in Aries.
Writer’s Block as a Kind of Beauty
Writer’s block often means something matters too much to rush. When the mind stops producing words, it’s sometimes because the idea is still forming its bones. It isn’t ready to be pretty yet. It’s still becoming honest.
In that way, writer’s block is a lot like a Venus–Saturn conjunction.
Venus wants the expression — the beauty, the connection, the poetry.
Saturn wants the integrity — the structure, the truth, the thing that will last.
When they meet, the result isn’t always immediate inspiration.
Sometimes it’s silence.
But not empty silence.
It’s the silence where something meaningful is being shaped carefully instead of quickly.
Let yourself be molded.
