What is a Decan Walk?
Intentional star gazing.
Dearest Astro-Nerds!
Me thinks you already know I’m into the stars. I like to gaze and get lost in the dark and foggy mazes of my mind. Staring at the tiniest of pin pricks of light in the night sky. So why not make it a thing? Find a way to honor nature and the changing of the light every ten days. But why this?
So many people have already done a Decan Walk and really beautifully too, but I want too anyway. Because I won’t do it like them, and they haven’t done it like me.
I don’t have it all planned out. Other than, it will take a year. A whole year where I will get to send you something once every ten(ish) days. I hope you read it, feel inspired to consider something different and maybe want to talk about it.
How does it work? A decan walk is a practice where astrologers work through the zodiac sign by sign, focusing on each decan, a 10° segment of a sign. It’s used in a structured way to deepen one’s understanding of astrology, build a relationship with the planets, and track personal experience. People do this in different ways. Some meditate on the planetary ruler, pull tarot cards, journal or observe other transits as the Sun moves through each decan. Sometimes, cooking a food in honor of a specific planet (like a new desert for Venus) or listening to different music will help you connect to planetary magic. You can do any or all of these. There are no rules other than participating in your own way. My goal is to offer you a sample of these things to help you find your own way in connecting to the planets and the gods that rule them.
Enough explanation. Buckle up, it’s bound to get weird.
Big love ❤️!

I am really looking forward to joining Shawna for this Decan Walk. One thing I know, it won't be like any other once Shawna sprinkles her magic, she lights up the hidden paths.
